The January 6, 2021 insurrection at the Capitol
President Trump found himself with a great money-making scheme following his election loss in November. Using a "stolen election" as his theme, Trump was able to bring in hundreds of millions of dollars through a self-described "Official Election Defense Fund" in the form of their "Save America" political action committee (PAC.) Personal attorney Rudolph Giuliani was in on it from the beginning and when Senators Josh Hawley (MO) and Ted Cruz (TX) along with a hundred-plus GOP House Representatives figured out the scheme--that they could not only raise huge sums by perpetuating stolen or fraudulent-election claims, but also endear themselves to Trump's far-right, radicalized base--they were fully on board as well.
Meanwhile those who's spent years in their Mom's basement playing video games jumped at the opportunity to bring them to life on January 6, 2021 using the false "stolen election" narrative as their battle cry. These Game of Thrones and Call of Duty dreamers donned their video-game garb and set out on a real-life larping expedition where they joined a cabal of white supremacists and far-right, conspiracy fringe groups who've been ready for a revolution for decades.
On January 6 it all came together with the "March to Save America" rally sponsored by Women for America First and Stop the Steal. Trump and his inner circle riled up this group of misdirected Americans to the point of insurrection, but the problem with it all is that this wasn't a reality TV show, telethon or video game and those who stormed the Capitol were lucky that no bullets were flying, save for the one that ended up taking the life of a woman who tried to break into the House chamber. They're also lucky that the authorities took them too lightly and/or in some cases may have conspired with them in some form. And those same authorities who took this lightly and/or possibly conspired are directly responsible for the death of on Capitol policeman and the many injuries suffered by others in law enforcement who found out that Blue Lives didn't matter so much to a mob riled up by their leader, a self-proclaimed 'Law and Order President' in Donald Trump.
